Who we are
UBTA is the union that represents nearly 300 professional teachers and related services providers throughout Cattaraugus and Allegany counties of Western New York. Cattaraugus Allegany BOCES services 22 component school districts throughout Cattaraugus, Allegany, Erie and Wyoming counties.
We Are a Union of Professionals: Individually and collectively, we -the members and leaders of the UBTA- are committed to making a difference. We advocate for quality classrooms and for educators by leading, challenging, working for change , by improving salaries, benefits, employment rights and working conditions. We work for a better future for all members!
We are....UBTA....Union Strong! We are an affiliate of NYSUT, the AFT (American Federation of Teachers), and the NEA (National Education Association). We are unified organizations, as the names might imply. We are a unified, professional family always striving to improve our workplace.
Purpose
Dedicated to improving our members' working conditions, and also our professions. We are united in a common commitment to improve the quality of education for our students. We strive to deliver an excellent education and promote respect and responsibility in a safe learning environment.
